Scott Lundstrom
Vice President, Research

As Research Vice President, Scott Lundstrom is responsible for managing Health Industry Insights research-based advisory and consulting offerings, which provide full coverage of the health care industry value chain, including payer, provider and life science segments. Lundstrom's experience has given him a thorough understanding of market dynamics, business strategies and processes, and technology solutions.
Prior to joining Health Industry Insights, Lundstrom was a Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at AMR Research, where he was responsible for AMR's business process and technologies research teams, including ERP, supply chain, CRM, compliance and enabling technologies. He also worked with life science companies on corporate IT issues, including compliance, performance management, and infrastructure strategies, as well as new technologies, such as RFID and web services.
Lundstrom's previous experience also includes leadership positions in software and business development at Visibility, Dun & Bradstreet Software, Powersoft and Andersen Consulting.
Lundstrom is a regular speaker on the future of information technology in business, healthcare, life sciences, supply chain management, manufacturing, and compliance. He is also a source for the media on health care and life science issues and is often quoted by major publications such as USA Today, Investor’s Business Daily, The Boston Globe and BusinessWeek.
Alan S. Louie, Ph.D.
Research Director

Research director, Dr. Alan Louie, is charged with spearheading Health Industry Insights' research service on the emerging opportunity for personalized health. In addition, he leads the company's research efforts focusing on technology and information technology (IT) innovations in drug discovery.
Dr. Louie brings more than 23 years of technical, product development, and business consulting experience from the diagnostics and biotechnology industries, including specific expertise in technology due diligence, in vitro diagnostic technology and product development, integrated device product development, automated biological sample handling, and consumer product development and commercialization projects.
Previously, Dr. Louie led applied biotechnology programs as Senior Manager at Arthur D. Little, Inc. In this role, he managed laboratory-based technology development programs, as well as provided content expertise to healthcare strategic consulting projects. Prior to joining Arthur D. Little, he was responsible for the development and commercialization of more than 30 products for a variety of industries, including many first-in-class product offerings.
A recognized thought leader in both the health and life sciences industries, Dr. Louie is a frequently sought-after speaker at top industry events, including DIA and Drug Discovery Technology World Congress. He is also a highly regarded resource for the news media, with quotes in such renown publications as the Boston Business Journal, The Boston Globe, Drug Discovery News, The Scientist, and The Wall Street Journal. He is a current member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council, and DIA.
Dr. Louie graduated with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California at Riverside and holds a B.A. in Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley.

Eric Newmark is a Research Manager for IDC's Health Industry Insights, where he manages the Business Systems Strategies program and Life Science Leading Indicators service. In this position, he provides research-based advisory and consulting services, as well as market analysis on key topics within the health and life science industry. Newmark's research expertise includes channel management, supply chain evolution, e-pedigree, RFID and identifying emerging technologies and market trends.
Newmark joined IDC from AMR Research, where he held the position of Senior Research Analyst focusing on Supply Chain, CRM, Price Management, Web Self-Service and RFID. Prior to AMR, he held positions in application development, technical project management, and operations management at Siebel Systems Inc., Onlink Technologies and Easyware Software.
Newmark is a widely recognized thought leader, quoted by such media outlets as Investor's Business Daily, CIO Insight, Supply & Demand Chain Executive, and RFID Journal, and is a frequent contributor to Bio-IT World magazine. Newmark holds a BS in MIS and Finance from Babson College, as well as an MBA from the Boston University School of Management, with a certification in Strategic Business Analysis.

Judy Hanover serves as research manager for Health Industry Insights' healthcare provider practice. An industry veteran, Ms. Hanover brings expertise in health care and the life sciences to her role, and provides research and market analysis on healthcare informatics.
Previously, Ms. Hanover served as a senior product marketing manager for drug safety for Phase Forward, Inc. where she was responsible for marketing drug safety and data management products that assist biopharmaceutical companies and regulatory agencies with product safety and risk management strategies.
Ms. Hanover was also a senior research analyst for IDC's life science practice, where she developed significant subject matter expertise in research areas including regulatory compliance, clinical trial IT infrastructure, drug development performance management, pharmacovigilance and drug safety technology. She has also held positions in strategic planning, product management and market research at 3M Health Information Systems, Ingenix Inc., and McKesson Corporation.
Ms. Hanover has a background in healthcare informatics, and experience working with life science, managed care, provider and clinical applications. These include Electronic Health Records, Clinical Decision Support Systems, Disease and Case Management Systems, Administrative, Claims and Bill Review Systems.
Ms. Hanover holds a BA in Chemistry from Harvard University, as well as an MBA, with concentration in Marketing, and an MS in Information Systems, from Boston University.
